Atmospheric Electricity

Atmospheric electricity was generated by the Tour Eiffel by working jointly with the Trocadero towers and the basilica in Montmartre – the highest point in Paris.

The Palais du Trocadero had two lateral wings filled with columns that acted as coils, combined with a resonator dome, now destroyed.

The Trocadero main building had a monumental central rotunda and concert hall which could contain about 5,000 people, with the first large organ in France. The palais was looted and destroyed in 1935 by a ‘mysterious’ fire. The colonnade was mischaracterized.
